    CubeSmart is hiring a Network Engineer to join our Information Technology department at our Malvern, PA headquarters. The Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting our network infrastructure while working independently to solve problems and recommend strategies for proactive system improvements.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Architecture Manager, this role will be responsible for the primary network infrastructure supporting CubeSmart’s 3000+ teammates. 

    • Overseeing, implementing, and troubleshooting network systems including data-center, remote offices, network firewall, Internet circuits, SDWan, and VPN connectivity
    • Support, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade, and build network infrastructure to stay in line with current industry best practices and security standards
    • Implement new connectivity solutions and redesigns of CubeSmart networks when necessary
    • Manage connectivity to cloud and off-site environments through a variety of solutions including point to point VPN, dedicated connections, and SDWan, LAN/WAN routing (BGP, MPLS, QoS, MPLS)
    • Provide tactical and strategic input on overall network planning and related projects
    • Ensure efficient data-center communication between SAN, VMWare environment, and core data-center network
    • Coordinate with other members of the infrastructure team to enable cross functional solutions
    • Manage technical projects of varying scopes from planning to implementation
    • Build consensus among management, peers and users in order to successfully pitch projects, manage change, and drive success
    • Design systems and processes to increase pro-activity and intelligent alerting
    • Create high quality network documentation and practice disciplined version control
    • Vendor management for support contracts, equipment purchases, and solutions architecting
    • Provide after hours on-call support as required

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable technical discipline and 7+ years of related technology work experience or equivalent in total work experience
    • Demonstrated ability to think critically about business problems and find effective technical solutions
    • Demonstrated ability to meticulously plan, test, and implement changes to avoid unexpected consequences and outages
    • Demonstrated history of successfully building and implementing systems throughout an enterprise environment
    • Detailed layer 1 through 7 knowledge
    • Experience doing traffic flow analysis and troubleshooting
    • Hands on experience with Cisco routing and switching (IOS, NX-OS), firewall Solutions (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet), VPN (Cisco, Fortigate)
    • Experience with configuring and maintaining secure wireless networks (Aruba, Meraki)
    • Experience with SD-WAN technologies (Meraki)
    • Broad experience and familiarity with aspects of infrastructure systems beyond core networking (Cloud, email, virtualization, SAN, security infrastructure, etc)
    • Ability to interface with other business groups and explain technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
    • Strong documentation skills
    • Flexible working hours to accommodate change windows
    • Must be able to create detailed documentation of work and processes
    • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds of computer hardware/equipment
    • May require extended hours during peak periods and off hours maintenance.
