    CubeSmart is currently seeking a Project Design Specialist to join the Real Estate Development team at our corporate office in Malvern, PA. The Project Design Specialist is responsible for supporting the Real Estate Development team on growth of new owned and managed stores. This role coordinates design projects with owners, architects and consultants as well as interfacing with the internal third party management team.  This individual will be expected to research new projects, coordinate and hold intake meetings with external parties, design new or review existing designs to CubeSmart standards, and address questions or concerns as needed. This position requires experience in real estate development, commercial construction, and space planning with demonstrated ability to assess design needs, apply a set of guidelines, and manage the project to completion.

    The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

    • Coordination of project design / support with owners, architects, engineers, project managers and other design professionals.
    • Preparation of initial design documents using AutoCAD software and/or redline of existing plans
    • Tracks 3PM project status and timeline through communication with development team
    • Maintain and develops company design standards
    • Reviews project design to conformance with company’s Brand Guidelines.
    • Coordinates review of projects with other departments including Marketing, Facility Services and Operations.
    • Assist 3PM relationship team with 3PM expansion projects. Evaluate existing store design and performance and provide recommendation on site and interior design.


    Occasional travel by personal car, train and/or airplane.

    • A bachelor's degree in engineering or similar field of study
    • 2-3 years of experience in real estate development, project management or related field.
    • Proficiency in design using AutoCAD software
    • Demonstrated knowledge of real estate development
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as data entry and spreadsheet software capabilities
